Demi Lovato recently got a new tattoo at GEE’s Spot in North Hollywood, covering up her old ‘vagina’ tattoo on her left wrist with a rose. The 22-year-old singer proudly showed off her fresh ink on Instagram, saying goodbye to the old design and welcoming the new one. She expressed her love for the new tattoo, calling it beautiful and adding a hashtag for her old tattoo, jokingly advising kids not to do drugs. Check out the video below for a closer look.
‘Goodbye old tattoo, hello new ink!’ Demi Lovato replaced the ‘vagina’ tattoo on her left wrist with a beautiful rose design on Monday (pictured March 12). Back in 2011 on the Warp Tour, Lovato and her friends Ivey Ensley, Hanna Beth Merjos, and Lauren Pietra all decided to get matching lip tattoos on a whim. Lovato received Ivey’s kiss mark, which later became the logo for Hanna Beth’s Sober Is Sexy clothing line. With a collection of 12 tattoos by the age of 20, Demi, also known as Demetria, proudly considers herself a tattoo aficionado.
After three weeks, the young pop star posted on Instagram, expressing her love for her new tattoo and saying goodbye to her old one with the hashtag #RIPvaginatattoo #kidsdontdodrugs. She is delighted with the new design and is happy with the change.
The buzzing began on April 1 at GEE’s Spot in North Hollywood, marking the start of a lengthy process for the former Disney Channel star. Some attribute her change of heart to her three-year anniversary of sobriety on March 15. In a tweet to her 27.9M followers, she expressed her gratitude to everyone who has supported her journey. She never thought sobriety was achievable for her, but with the love and encouragement from her friends, fans, and family, she now proudly celebrates her third “birthday.” Thank you to all who have been there for her.
It was definitely a spur-of-the-moment choice: while at the 2011 Warp Tour, Lovato and her girl squad consisting of Ivey Ensley, Hanna Beth Merjos, and Lauren Pietra decided to get identical tattoos of pouted lips.
Friendship tattoos: The singer of “Heart Attack” got a tattoo of Ivey’s kiss mark on the left side and Hanna Beth decided to use it as the logo for her clothing line, Sober Is Sexy.
Looking at Demi Lovato from another angle: Demi, whose full name is Demetria, openly admits to being a big fan of tattoos, with a collection of 12 pieces before she turned 20. She faced struggles with addiction, checking into rehab twice for issues including cocaine, alcohol, depression, self-harm, and an eating disorder. One of her rehab stays was at Timberline Knolls in 2011.
After her second rehab stint, the singer of “Warrior” decided to get matching ‘Stay Strong’ tattoos with her mom, Dianna Hart, a former Dallas Cowboys cheerleader. Apart from her tattoos, Demi has also been focusing on her fitness, hitting the gym regularly with her personal trainer Ronny Camacho to transform her physique.
“I am now marking my 3rd birthday”: The former Disney Channel actress may have had a shift in perspective thanks to reaching three years of sobriety on March 15.
“Discovering that I could achieve sobriety was a revelation for me,” Lovato revealed. She sought treatment for various issues such as cocaine addiction, alcohol abuse, depression, self-harm, and an eating disorder, undergoing rehabilitation twice, including a stay at Timberline Knolls in 2011.
Throughout her journey to recovery, Lovato found unwavering support from her on-and-off boyfriend of ten years, Wilmer Valderrama. Taking to Instagram, she credited him as her lifeline, stating, “I wouldn’t be here today without him by my side.” Expressing her deep feelings, she added, “My love for him has reached a depth that words cannot fully capture how much he means to me. He has shown me a kind of love I never believed I deserved. Today marks my third year of sobriety, and I am grateful for his unwavering love and support throughout.”
She is absolutely killing it! The ex-X Factor judge has not only changed her appearance for the better but has also been hitting the gym regularly with her personal trainer, Ronny Camacho.
“I owe my life to him,” Demi expressed, acknowledging her unwavering supporter throughout her recovery journey, her on-again, off-again boyfriend of over a decade, Wilmer Valderrama.
