The actress admitted that after auditioning for director Zack Snyder, she had to wait two long weeks before even knowing what role she was being considered for. “I had no idea what I was auditioning for – they kept it top secret,” revealed the Israeli star. When Zack Snyder finally revealed the truth, Gal had to mask her excitement and play it cool.

Despite her regular travels between Los Angeles and Tel Aviv, where she calls home, the actress expressed her overwhelming excitement upon hearing she had secured the role. She described how she was bombarded with missed calls from her agents the moment her plane landed, and the rush of emotions she felt upon finally getting the confirmation of landing the part.

In a conversation with Ellen, Gal shared how as a mother of a four-year-old daughter named Alma, she takes pride in portraying a strong female role model. She mentioned that Alma has visited her on set multiple times and once even questioned if wearing a tiara made her a Queen, prompting Gal to explain the concept of playing dress-up. Alma is fond of dressing up and princesses, as highlighted during a storytelling session where she expressed admiration for the bravery of Princes but dismissed Princesses as doing nothing except falling asleep. Gal found comfort in knowing that her role as Wonder Woman was positively influencing her daughter. Pronounced “Gah-dote,” Gal is set to star in her own Wonder Woman film releasing in June 2017, following her appearance alongside Batman and Superman in the film released in March 2016.
