“Thriving Celebrations: Demi Lovato Reflects on Five Years of Sobriety and Dishes on Her MMA Love Interest”

This Wednesday is a special day for Demi Lovato as she reaches an important achievement of being sober for five years.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight at the Kids Choice Awards on Saturday, the 24-year-old singer expressed her joy, saying “It feels incredible! I’ve been dedicating my time to self-improvement and the journey has been challenging, but definitely worth it.”

Happy sober anniversary to Demi Lovato! This Wednesday, she is celebrating an incredible achievement – five years of sobriety. The Grammy-nominated singer shared that the key to her recovery from drugs and alcohol has been surrendering. Demi, whose real name is Demetria, emphasized the importance of admitting to having a problem in order to overcome it. Looking back, she acknowledged that before getting clean, she was difficult to work with.

Speaking at the Kids Choice Awards on Saturday, the 24-year-old who has been to rehab twice shared with ET, “It’s such a great feeling! I’ve been putting all my efforts into improving myself. It has been a challenging journey, but definitely worth it.”

Before anything else, you need to be honest with yourself about your struggles: according to the Grammy-nominated singer, the key to overcoming addiction is acknowledging and surrendering to the problem.

“Last year, the ex-Disney Channel actress bluntly stated to Refinery29, ‘I was such a mess!’ Before I got clean, I had this attitude of not caring about anything and used it as an excuse to do whatever I pleased.”
She is currently enjoying a new romance with Guilherme ‘Bomba’ Vasconcelos, a Bellator MMA fighter. When asked about their relationship, Demi expressed, “It’s going really well! He’s turning 31 this month, and things are great between us.”

Things are going great for Lovato, especially with her budding romance with MMA Bellator fighter, Guilherme ‘Bomba’ Vasconcelos.

Demi, whose full name is Demetria, shared with ET about her 30-year-old boyfriend from Brazil: “I’m just enjoying myself, you know? Everything is going great in my life at the moment. He always knows how to make me giggle.”

Prior to her split on June 3, Lovato was in a relationship with her live-in boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama for six years.
She has been dedicating all her time to the studio, working on her upcoming sixth album which has not been named yet.
“I was actually listening to some of my new songs on my way here,” Demi excitedly shared.

“It’s going to have a lot more soul in it,” says the former Disney Channel actress as she dives into the recording studio each day to work on her upcoming sixth album, which still doesn’t have a title.

Excited to showcase her vocal range, Demi Lovato will be performing at Rodeo Houston in Texas this Tuesday. She is looking forward to sharing her soulful music with the audience. In addition to her performance, Demi will also be lending her voice to the character Smurfette in the upcoming animated film, Smurfs: The Lost Village, hitting theaters in the UK on March 31 and in the US on April 7.
